Quality Childcare Centre
Research shows quality early education and care leads to better health, education and employment outcomes later in life. So, it’s really important for you to know if the child care service your child will be attending provides quality experiences that will cater for your child’s overall growth and development.
When you are exploring different services, here are some helpful questions you can ask.
All journeys have a beginning. At Farran Street, we begin with an Orientation. Orientations run for about 3 weeks prior to your child’s first day. Together we’ll decide on a time that works for everyone and we’ll invite you to spend some time at the service with your child. It gives your family an opportunity to get to know us, meet the Educators and start to explore the new environment.
Once Orientation is complete and they have developed a strong relationship with Educators, it’s time to settle into a drop-off and pick up routine. At Farran Street we allow children the freedom to explore, and autonomy to make decisions for themselves. Below are a few things that may happen that we want to prepare you for!
Most importantly your child will be looked after and cared for and make lifelong bonds as a part of the Farran Street family.
The Child Care Subsidy is means tested, based on combined family income, fortnightly activity levels – such as work, study or volunteering – and the type of service the child attends (Family Day Care, Long Day Care or Before and After School Care).
As part of the Child Care Subsidy, the number of hours of subsidised care you’ll be entitled to will be based on your level of recognised activity. Understanding the different types of activity that will be recognised is key to maximising your Child Care Subsidy.
